There are certain risks.
Long laces, chains, scarves, bows, and buttons on toys can pose a risk of asphyxiation, so they should be removed. Additionally, as pediatrician Valentina FESHENKO notes, there is a possibility of allergic reactions to the chemical components from which the toys are made. Finally, such items can accumulate dust and dirt, which can also sometimes trigger allergic reactions in children.
If a child is used to sleeping with a soft toy, it is not advisable to abruptly take away this habit, as such items often have a calming effect and help them fall asleep faster.
Choose toys made from hypoallergenic materials and wash them at least once every two weeks. Once the baby falls asleep, the toy can be placed nearby.
