How to take a shower properly? This seemingly strange yet simple question became a topic of discussion on social media after a TikToker from Southern California shared her opinion on two ways of taking a shower with more than 100,000 followers. This was reported by the New York Post, The New York Breaking News, WSTPost, and many others.
What two ways of taking a shower did the girl describe?
The disruptor of tranquility is named Alexandra Lee (pseudonym Lovey Lee). She is 29 years old. The American made her "discovery" by chance, learning in a conversation with her mother that they shower differently.
According to Alexandra, during her water procedures, she always turns her back to the showerhead, so the water hits her hair and runs down her body, while her mother, on the contrary, stands facing the source of the water stream. Lee admitted that this news surprised her, as she was sure that everyone showers with their back to the showerhead.
"I think the normal way to take a shower is when the showerhead is behind you. Is anyone else surprised by this?" she stated.
The girl appealed to users to help settle her dispute with her mother.
Which method is correct?
Judging by the comments on social media, users are divided into two camps: some consider it "normal" and "correct" to wash while turning away from the showerhead, while others prefer to face it. It is difficult to determine which of these methods is the only correct one, as people prefer to shower in the way that is most comfortable for them. For example, when washing hair, it is convenient to stand with your back to the water streams, while facing it is preferable during face washing.
Interestingly, many users, like Alexandra, were indeed unaware of the existence of another way to take a shower besides the one they are used to:
"Who the hell stands in front of the water?" one user wondered.
"Looking at the water is unbalanced," another believes.
"Why do you all take a shower backward?" asked a third.
There are also those who shared that they successfully combine both washing methods.
"I constantly rotate like a shashlik," said one of the followers.
Among the commentators, there are also those who generally do not like when water pours over them from above. Therefore, they remove the showerhead and pour water over themselves while holding it in their hands.
