“Fluffy as a peach”? No associations with hair removal advertising — this time, the soft fuzz of the fruit has caught the attention of designers. The Pantone Color Institute has finally determined the main shade for the upcoming year 2024: it is Peach Fuzz — “peach fuzz.”
The delicate pastel color is described by representatives of the Institute as a “warm and cozy tone,” symbolizing your desire for unity with those who are close to you in spirit. “It’s a velvety shade of peach that fills the mind, body, and heart with its all-encompassing spirit,” notes the Institute’s director, Leatrice Eiseman. She also emphasizes that another reason for choosing this shade is its ability to compromise — in her opinion, peach “effortlessly connects youth with the eternal.”
13-1023 Peach Fuzz will offer a new perspective on fashion trends focused on calm and muted tones. Moreover, it will undoubtedly increase interest in peaches and bellinis. Experts at the Institute believe that this color “significantly strengthens the symbiotic connection of all human senses — taste, sight, touch, and smell.”
“Peach Fuzz” will replace the carmine red Viva Magenta, which was trending this year. By the way, it was also intended to promote balance, but between warmth and coolness.
The Color Institute team constantly explores the impact of various shades and their combinations not only on the fashion industry but also on film, design, and art. The annual color selection has become a tradition aimed at reflecting the events occurring in the surrounding world through a palette of shades.
