How to Store Cement at the Cottage So It Doesn«t Spoil Over the Winter?

Cement should be stored in dry closed sheds on dry wooden floors, elevated 20-50 cm above the ground, covered with a single layer of roofing felt or parchment.

High-grade cements are particularly demanding when it comes to storage conditions, as their fine grinding leads to quick clumping and loss of activity. The places where cement is stored should be protected not only from moisture but also from excessive air exchange, especially drafts.

On construction sites, cement in bags can be stored on wooden pallets, covered on all sides with polyethylene film or roofing felt.

Cement can be stored in tightly closed boxes, metal or wooden barrels, but not for more than 2 years.
