Soon, summer residents will start gathering the first harvest of strawberries, and this is a great time to make dumplings.
Don't forget to treat yourself to dumplings made from fresh berries — you won't find such in stores. Let's look at how to prepare them so that they don't fall apart or overcook.
For preparation, you will need:
300 grams of flour;
½ tsp of salt;
150 milliliters of boiling water;
1.5-2 tbsp of vegetable oil.
How to Cook
This recipe is for two servings of dumplings.
Mix the flour with the salt in a bowl, then pour in the boiling water and stir. Start kneading the dough, which should become elastic. Wrap the finished dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
Meanwhile, rinse the strawberries and dry them. Cut them into medium pieces, best done after the dough is ready.
It is recommended to use berries slightly smaller than average — they only need to be cut in half.
Important: fresh berries should not be mixed with sugar, otherwise they will release juice, making it difficult to shape the dumplings.
Next, roll out the dough, use a glass to cut out round blanks, place the berries in the center, sprinkle, and fold the edges.
Dumplings with strawberries are best boiled immediately, otherwise the dough will soften due to the sugar and berries.
Boil the dumplings in boiling water. Gently drop them into the water using a slotted spoon, stirring carefully.
After boiling, cook the dumplings for 2-2.5 minutes.
Serve with sour cream, butter, or simply sprinkle with sugar.
Enjoy your meal!
