The process of making soup may seem simple.
Nevertheless, many novice cooks argue about whether to cover the pot with a lid while cooking.
There are often mistakes made in this matter, which can negatively affect the taste, aroma, and quality of the first course.
How to properly cook soup
If the soup is covered with a lid, the boiling of the liquid becomes more intense. This can lead to the mixture becoming cloudy, and as a result, the finished dish will look less appetizing.
Experienced cooks advise against using a lid; however, there are exceptions.
For example, if only meat is added to the soup, it is better to cook it in a covered pot; otherwise, this ingredient may become too tough, ruining the taste of the dish.
Additionally, soups that need to be quite thick, such as cream soups, should be cooked under a lid.
