How to Make Marshmallows at Home: A Simple Recipe

Marshmallow is a delicious and delicate confectionery that both adults and children love.

Nutritionists also have nothing against this treat, especially if it is made according to a homemade recipe.

Ingredients:

  • fresh apples — 4 pcs;
  • cinnamon and vanilla — a pinch;
  • sugar — 0.725 g;
  • egg white — 1 pc;
  • agar-agar — 8 g;
  • water — 160 ml.

Step-by-step preparation:

  1. Peel and slice the apples.
  2. You can bake the fruits in the oven or place them in the microwave for 5 minutes.
  3. Next, make apple puree and transfer it to a deep bowl using a 250-gram glass.
  4. Add vanilla and cinnamon, as well as 250 g of sugar. Mix all the components and wait for it to cool. During this time, you can prepare piping bags with nozzles and a baking sheet for laying out the marshmallows.
  5. Mix 4 tsp of agar-agar with water and let it steep for at least 10 minutes.
  6. Add half of the prepared egg white to the cooled puree with sugar and beat with a mixer for at least 2 minutes.
  7. Add the remaining egg white and beat until the mixture turns white and increases in volume.
  8. Place the agar-agar over low heat. Do not bring to a boil, but completely dissolve the ingredient in the water.
  9. Without cooling, pour it in a thin stream into the bowl with the puree while continuing to beat.
  10. Use the mixer until the mixture becomes thick, almost not dripping from the whisk.
  11. Transfer to piping bags and pipe small rosettes onto the baking sheet, leaving them overnight to set at room temperature.
