Eliminating the causes will help restore the feeling of satiety
The feeling of emptiness in the stomach immediately after eating can arise from a lack of protein, dietary fiber, and fluids. Nutritionist Tatyana Rybakova explained how to regain the feeling of satiety.
The expert identified five reasons that contribute to the feeling of hunger after a meal. The first is a lack of protein. This element promotes a prolonged feeling of fullness. Meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, nuts, and legumes contain sufficient amounts of protein.
If the diet shows a deficiency of dietary fiber, this also negatively affects the feeling of fullness. Vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes are good sources of dietary fiber. When they enter the stomach, they swell, creating a feeling of satiety.
Moreover, since our brain can confuse thirst and hunger, emptiness in the stomach after eating may indicate a lack of fluids in the body. Additionally, the feeling of fullness may be absent in those who experience stress and eat quickly. The nutritionist recommends eating slowly so that the body has time to realize that you are full.
The doctor urged to combat the desire to snack between main meals. To achieve success, it is necessary to determine the true cause — stress, boredom, habit, or lack of nutrients. Snacks can be replaced with meditation, walking, or physical activity. It is also important to plan meals for the day in advance to receive sufficient energy and nutrients.
