As the expert explained, beets contain nitrates. Once in the body, these substances are converted into nitric oxide. This helps to dilate blood vessels, which in turn can lead to a decrease in blood pressure.
According to the doctor, a noticeable effect is possible with regular consumption of beet juice. He noted that one should drink at least 250 milliliters of the beverage per day for this purpose.
