Almonds Contribute to Weight Loss of 9.3% Over Nine Months

Australian researchers discovered an amazing property of almonds. They are an excellent aid for those looking to shed extra pounds. This is reported on the Obesity website.

 

To reach the above conclusion, researchers from the University of South Australia conducted a study involving a group of one hundred and six volunteers.

The participants' ages ranged from twenty-five to sixty-five years, and all had issues with overweight. They were then divided into two subgroups, and for nine months they followed a special diet.

The first group consumed high-carbohydrate rice crackers, while the second group ate almonds. As a result, participants who consumed almonds lost 9.3% of their weight and also improved their cardiovascular health.
