A Study Revealed How Much Coffee You Need to Drink to Protect Your Liver from Fibrosis

A study was conducted in the United States. Scientists examined 4,500 adult Americans and concluded that caffeine plays a key role in maintaining liver health. Those who consume coffee experience a slowdown in the development of liver fibrosis.

As part of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, scientists used elastography—a diagnostic method that allows for the assessment of liver fibrosis. They measured the elasticity of the organ's tissues. Although coffee does not affect the level of liver obesity, caffeine itself helps slow down and prevent fibrosis. A particularly noticeable effect is observed in those who drink more than three cups of coffee a day.

For many years, scientists have actively researched coffee. Some studies emphasize its benefits, while others point out potential harm. Nevertheless, the number of coffee enthusiasts continues to grow. Caffeine, the main component of coffee, improves brain function, accelerates heart rate, and stimulates gallbladder activity.

It is important to consume coffee in moderation; otherwise, issues such as insomnia, heartburn, tremors, and increased blood pressure may arise.
