How to Properly Dry Bananas at Home?
“For drying, choose ripe bananas and wash them thoroughly. Cut them into slices of equal thickness (about 5 mm). To prevent the bananas from darkening during drying, place them in a solution of water and lemon juice (in a 2:1 ratio) or citric acid (1:1) for 20-30 seconds,” shares chef Alexey GERASIMCHUK.
- Preheat the oven to 60-70°C. Line a rack with baking paper, place the slices on it, and leave to bake for 2-3 hours.
Don’t forget to occasionally turn the fruit slices to ensure a more even drying process. After that, they can be stored at room temperature in a container or a plastic bag.”
