Dietitian Marina Makisha emphasized that apples with red, yellow, and orange skin contain more beneficial substances. This is because bright fruits have a higher content of beta-carotene.
“Beta-carotene is a powerful antioxidant. It has a comprehensive positive effect on our body, particularly benefiting vision, the brain, and blood vessels.
Green apples are also beneficial; however, they contain less beta-carotene.
Color pigments (beta-carotenes) can cause allergies in some people, so they are recommended to consume green apples,” noted the specialist.
