Which cereals can be harmful: an endocrinologist highlighted grains that are dangerous for health

Cereals are considered one of the most traditional products. However, not all grains are beneficial for the body. Endocrinologist Dilyara Lebedeva explained which types of porridge can be harmful to health.

 

Endocrinologist Dilyara Lebedeva believes that excluding three types of porridge from the diet will only benefit humanity. What do you think these grains are?

The first place in the anti-rating is occupied by semolina. The expert noted that semolina is just finely ground wheat, of which 70% is starch. It poses a danger as it can sharply increase blood sugar levels and cause the pancreas to produce significantly more insulin.

In second place in terms of harm is instant oatmeal. According to the specialist, this grain contains almost no beneficial substances necessary for the body, including fiber. Excessive consumption of instant oatmeal can lead to diabetes, obesity, as well as heart and vascular diseases.

Rounding out the top three harmful cereals is a dish made from cornmeal. The expert emphasized that it contains a lot of glucose. After its consumption, blood sugar levels can sharply rise, and in the future, cornmeal can become a cause of excess weight, the doctor reported.
