Nutritionist M. Ginzburg explained how to increase the benefits of bread.
According to the specialist, it is optimal to store bread in the freezer — this helps minimize the possible harm from the product. Freezing slows down the breakdown of starch, so after consuming such bread, the blood glucose level rises gradually. In the case of regular bread, however, the sugar level spikes sharply, which can increase the risk of developing diabetes.
The doctor noted that bread can be thawed in a toaster or microwave — in this way, it will retain its beneficial properties.
Bread, emphasized Ginzburg, strengthens bones, supports brain function, and serves as a valuable source of energy.
