According to the prosecutor's office, the bank employee was accused of illegal actions with financial instruments and payment means in a large amount, as well as forgery of documents for selfish purposes.

The court sentenced the defendant to six years of imprisonment, 420 hours of community service, and three years of probation.

The court also granted the claim for damages, obliging the defendant to pay the bank 202,555 euros.

Abusing her powers, from September 11, 2003, to May 27, 2020, the accused concluded remote banking service agreements in the name of clients without their knowledge, registered the issuance of new code cards, code calculators, and payment cards, terminated deposit and savings agreements, entered into loan agreements, and illegally transferred clients' money, thereby gaining access to their financial resources.

To conceal her actions, she used part of the funds to cover the demands of other clients.

In total, she illegally used payment means of 19 individuals, causing damages amounting to 203,755 euros.

The material damage incurred by the clients was compensated by the credit institution, which received the status of a victim in this case.

Last year, Latvian television reported that the accused, Larisa Bobrova, managed branches in Ogre and Bauska. The employee was caught by the bank itself, which noticed inactive digital clients - mainly elderly people who did not use online banking.
