Last year, the value of various narcotic substances seized from illegal circulation on the black market amounted to 13,045,849 euros; additionally, 24 marijuana plantations were identified — 11 more than the previous year, according to summarized information from the State Police (GP), reports LETA.
Also last year, one hallucinogenic mushroom plantation and one drug production laboratory were discovered.
Last year, the State Police (GP) registered 1,194 drug-related crimes, while the year before there were 1,099.
The most commonly seized substances were marijuana, amphetamines, and psychotropic medications.
The GP is the largest investigative agency in the country, but it is not the only one fighting against drugs. The Tax and Customs Police and the Bureau of Internal Security also have such powers.
