In Milan, as a result of the tram derailment, two people have died and at least 40 have been injured, reports Corriere della Sera.
Tram route 9 was moving at high speed and, after derailing, crashed into a building. Among the injured are pedestrians and passengers.
According to one version, the driver felt unwell while operating the tram. The man was hospitalized with minor injuries.
The tragic accident occurred around 4 PM on February 27 in the central part of Milan on Viale Vittorio Veneto.
Passengers report that from the sudden impact, almost everyone inside fell, sustaining bruises and more serious injuries.
