Such a terrible day: a female driver was involved in not one, but two accidents in a row

An accident occurred on the Sigulda highway, where events unfolded in a "chain reaction" manner, reports Degpunktā (TV3). First, a tow truck crashed into the rear of a Renault vehicle, and soon after, a Volkswagen Crafter van followed. No one was injured, but the participants and witnesses have different versions of what happened.

An unexpected "meeting" of three cars occurred during the day in Vangaži. According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the Renault stopped at a pedestrian crossing at a red light. At that moment, a tow truck suddenly crashed into her car, as reported by TV3.

The impact was not too strong — both drivers got out of their cars and set up the warning triangle. The tow truck remained in the third lane, while the Renault was positioned between the second and third lanes. However, soon another accident occurred.

A powerful blow came from the third participant — a Volkswagen Crafter van, which crashed into the Renault with such force that the car was thrown several meters and spun in the opposite direction. As it turned out, at the moment of the second collision, the female driver was still inside the vehicle.

"She was just placing the triangle at the pedestrian crossing. I looked — the car was already turned around. She got out of the car, and she had tears in her eyes," an eyewitness recounted.

It is frightening to imagine how the incident could have ended if the woman had been standing by the trunk instead of being inside the vehicle.

The driver of the Volkswagen Crafter, named Dainis, explained that he was driving on the road and did not notice that another car was behind the tow truck:

"I looked at the lift — and only then saw the car that was standing ahead. I didn’t know there was an accident there. I looked at the tow truck — the car was not visible yet. As soon as I passed it — I saw it."

Eyewitnesses add that the van was traveling at quite a high speed, and the warning triangle of the tow truck had already been set up, indicating a lack of attentiveness on Dainis's part. However, the final conclusions will be made by the police.

Both morally and physically, the driver of the Renault, who experienced two accidents in a row, fortunately remained unharmed. The drivers of the other two vehicles also did not suffer any injuries.
