On the night after the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Latvia, a conflict arose between three young men in Old Riga.
One of the participants in the conflict did not think for long, pulled a gun from his jacket pocket, and fired into the air.
A car with municipal police arrived at the sound of the shot, who subdued two of the three disputants. The third calmly walked away from retribution.
The shooter explained that he used the weapon in self-defense, as he and his friend had a conflict with another young man.
The weapon, along with the ammunition, has been handed over to the state police for further investigation.
