Over the past day, 133 traffic accidents were registered in Latvia, of which 21 people were injured in 14 cases, the police reported to the LETA agency.
The most accidents with injuries occurred in the Riga region, where one pedestrian, one cyclist, and one electric scooter driver were injured.
In the Zemgale region, three pedestrians were injured.
In total, 552 administrative decisions regarding traffic violations were made, including 216 for speeding and six for aggressive driving.
Additionally, 13 drivers of vehicles in a state of alcohol intoxication were identified over the past day. In three cases, the offenders were held administratively liable, and in ten cases, criminal proceedings were initiated. In one case, the vehicle was confiscated, and nine offenders will have to compensate for the value of the seized vehicle.
Also, over the past day, one burglary was recorded, and in four cases, decisions were made to apply a separation measure (contact restriction).
