A German tourist in Mallorca jumped into the water to save his drowning wife and did not survive.
A German tourist at a popular resort in Europe jumped into the water to save his drowning wife and did not survive. The details of the story were shared by the portal The Olive Press.
It is reported that the incident occurred on October 10 at Son Bauló beach on the northeastern coast of the Spanish island of Mallorca. The 67-year-old man noticed that his 47-year-old wife was in trouble while swimming, attempted to help her, and also began to go under the water.
Emergency services soon arrived at the scene, retrieved the couple from the shore, and attempted to resuscitate the man with a defibrillator. Despite all efforts, the German could not be saved. His wife was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Earlier at the same European resort, a 90-year-old French tourist suffered cardiac arrest twice on the beach. Rescuers were able to revive him.
