Latvia Deployed T-55 in Exercises 'Furious Wolf' - Media

Latvia deployed one of the three T-55AM2 tanks during NATO exercises 'Furious Wolf', according to Telegram channels.

The Latvian Armed Forces deployed the T-55AM2 tank during NATO exercises Furious Wolf-26. Several Telegram channels drew attention to the corresponding footage.

The photo shows one of the three T-55AM2 tanks that the Czech Republic transferred to Latvia in 1999. The modification of the tank, developed in the 1950s, features additional armor protection for the hull and turret. The vehicle is equipped with smoke grenade launchers, a V-55AM2 engine with a power of 620 horsepower, and a 1K13BOM laser illumination device.

The basic T-55 began service in the late 1950s. The vehicle, with a 580 horsepower engine, was armed with a 100-millimeter rifled gun, complemented by machine guns of 12.7 and 7.62 millimeter calibers.
