You Won't Believe Which Country People Consider Their Fellow Citizens to Be Bad

Only in one of the 25 countries covered by the social research does the number of those who consider their fellow citizens to be bad people prevail.

It can be said with confidence that the world is going through tough times. And we often ponder the moral character of those around us.

Nevertheless, it seems that most of us tend to believe in the kindness of others.

The Pew Research Center published the results of a study that covered 25 countries. It showed that among respondents, there are more who claim that their fellow citizens have "somewhat good" or "very good" moral qualities. Accordingly, fewer respondents believe that the residents of their countries have "bad" moral qualities.

In Europe, Sweden turned out to be the most optimistic in this regard: 88% of respondents believe that Swedes are good people. They are followed by the British (82%) and the Dutch (80%).

On a global scale, Canadians and Indonesians mostly hold a good opinion of their fellow citizens - 92%.

The United States stands out from this trend: only 47% of respondents believe that their fellow citizens possess good moral and ethical qualities, while 53% labeled Americans as bad.
