The new leader of Iran owns elite housing in London. The son of Ayatollah Khamenei, Mojtaba Khamenei, owns apartments in the British capital with a view of the Israeli embassy. The property is valued at over £50 million. This was revealed in an investigation by Bloomberg, as reported by Deutsche Welle.
The apartments are located on the sixth and seventh floors and include staff quarters on the first floor. They are in close proximity to Kensington Palace.
It also showed that Khamenei owns 11 mansions in the Hampstead area in north London. Journalists also found that Khamenei has amassed a real estate portfolio worth hundreds of millions of pounds worldwide.
According to the investigation, the funds for the purchase of this property came from Iran's oil sales program circumventing sanctions.
