Israeli Ambassador Displeased with Russia's Position on the U.S. War in Iran

Israeli Ambassador to Russia Yosef stated about the one-sidedness of Russia's position on Iran.

The Israeli Ambassador to Russia, Oded Yosef, stated that he sees a discrepancy between Moscow's position on the situation surrounding Iran and its commitment to the security of the Jewish state.

"I see a very sharp discrepancy between the Russian leadership's commitment to Israel's security and the one-sided public statements that I have encountered and that I see," the diplomat said.

Yosef noted that Moscow can and should play an important role in resolving the conflict in the Middle East; however, for this, its position should not be "one-sided." The ambassador emphasized that both Russia and Israel are interested in maintaining the relations that have developed between the countries.

On March 2, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing concern over the escalation of armed conflict surrounding Iran throughout the Middle East and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities.
