British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that Ukrainian experts will help defend Gulf countries from Iranian drones. Starmer made this statement in a video address published on his account on the social network X.
"We will bring in experts from Ukraine along with our own experts to help partners in the Gulf states shoot down Iranian drones that are attacking them," said the British Prime Minister, as quoted by Meduza.
<script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>Starmer emphasized that the UK has not participated in strikes against Iran and does not intend to take part in the war further, but will support the defensive efforts of its allies. "This is the best way to eliminate the existing threat and prevent further escalation of the situation. The British government is protecting British interests and British lives," he said. The US and Israel struck Iran on February 28. In response, Iran has been attacking Israel and US ally countries in the Gulf with drones and missiles for the third day. Drones are widely used in the Russo-Ukrainian war. In 2024, a new branch of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was created — the Drone Systems Forces. Russia has been purchasing and establishing its own production of Iranian Shahed drones for strikes against Ukraine. My update on the situation in the Middle East. pic.twitter.com/DvsOVcTDMy
