Iran struck three tankers of the US and Britain in the Persian Gulf.
Iran struck three tankers of the United States and Britain with missiles in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the ISNA news agency.
"Continuing the attacks on the maritime targets of the military adversary, three violating tankers of the US and Britain were hit by missiles in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz and are on fire," the statement said.
Earlier, on March 1, the US Central Command denied reports of an attack by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran on the US Navy aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln. They stated that the missiles did not reach their target.
One of the main goals of the first phase of the operation by Israel and the US was the elimination of the top political and military leadership of Iran. As a result of the strikes, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who had governed the country since 1989, as well as the head of the IRGC Ali Shamkhani, Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, intelligence chief Gholamrez Rezayan, and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Abdolrahim Mousavi lost their lives.
On the morning of February 28, Israel struck Iran and called it "preventive." The attack was confirmed by the country's Defense Minister Israel Katz.
Later, the President of the United States announced the start of a large-scale military operation against Iran. It became known that it was named "Epic Fury."
