In the event of an invasion, we will transfer the war to Russia, said the head of the Estonian Foreign Ministry to DW. The narrative that Estonia is one of the most vulnerable countries in Europe is "fake news," said Margus Tsahkna in an interview with DW.
"We know exactly what to do. We are prepared for a possible Russian invasion, and the level of deterrence is indeed high," he added.
In response to a question about Estonia being considered one of the primary targets of a potential Russian invasion, Tsahkna acknowledged that "it makes a lot of sense" when simply looking at a map. "But in real life, we are significantly increasing our capabilities. I think NATO is stronger than ever. We already have new defense plans, and that means we are not just waiting. If Russia invades our territory, starting resistance, we will transfer the war to the territory of Russia," warned the head of the Estonian Foreign Ministry.
In this context, he is concerned about the "political will." "We are worried about Europe, whether Europe is ready to make a decision, to stand up, to become stronger," the minister admitted.
