In Latvia, the months-long search for 24-year-old Diana Bushmane, who disappeared at the end of October last year, has concluded. The woman was found dead in a forest area, and the police are currently investigating the circumstances of her death.
The story of the search for 24-year-old Diana Bushmane, a mother of two children who went missing last autumn, has ended tragically.
As reported by the show Degpunktā (TV3), the woman was found without signs of life in the forest on Monday.
Diana disappeared at the end of October. At that time, her partner Ivo said that on one of the working days, the woman suddenly stopped communicating, did not pick up the children from school, and did not return home.
Her relatives immediately began searching and contacted the police.
According to family members, Diana had mental disorders, but she remained capable, and her disappearance seemed unusual and alarming. The family suspected that someone external might have been involved in the woman's disappearance.
Ivo mentioned that border guards with dogs participated in the search, but the woman's trail suddenly ended near one of the intersections.
"She reached the intersection, stood on the grass, a car stopped, drove a few blocks down the forest road, turned around, and then left in an unknown direction," the man recalled.
This version raised many questions among the relatives at that time.
Now, more than six months later, the woman's body has been found in a forest area. State Police representative Julia Jurana confirmed that a criminal process has been initiated and examinations are being conducted.
"We can report that the body of the missing person has been found in the forest area," she stated.
According to preliminary information, no signs of violent crime have been established at this time, but final conclusions will be made after the examinations are completed.
The story of Diana's disappearance drew widespread attention in society last autumn — primarily due to her age, the presence of small children, and the mysterious circumstances of her disappearance.
