A mud volcano eruption was recorded in eastern Azerbaijan. This is stated on the website of the Republican Center for Seismological Service (RCSS) under the National Academy of Sciences of the country.
The eruption occurred at 16:53 local time (15:53 MSK) in the Hajigabul district, 110 kilometers from Baku. The focus was located at a depth of three meters, and the tremors lasted for about 13 minutes.
According to the APA agency, the eruption was accompanied by a flame ejection. It could be seen from the Baku-Gazakh highway and several nearby settlements.
