On April 10, 2026, the female Hera le Due gave birth to eight energetic puppies. The Center for Canine Studies of the State Border Guard College announced a contest for names for the puppies — and now each has its own "R" name!
College staff and cadets eagerly participated in choosing names for the puppies. From over 140 suggestions, the names selected were: boys Rems and Rocky, and girls Renda, Rada, Roxy, Resta, Reiya, and Reina. The names are arranged in alphabetical order, are easy to pronounce, and harmonize with the kennel name "Robežas Sargs," reports the State Border Guard.

The puppies immediately captured the attention and love not only of the staff but also of the students who cared for them and learned the basics of canine training. The "Border Guard" program gives future dog handlers a chance to learn practically how to properly raise and train service dogs.
The canine service of the college takes care of every stage of the puppy's life: from selecting breeding pairs and upbringing to initial service training. Thanks to this, the future dogs will be strong, balanced, and ready for professional work at the border.
The puppies Rems, Rocky, Renda, Rada, Roxy, Resta, Reiya, and Reina are not only a joy for the staff and students but also an important part of the continuity and high standard of training service dogs for the State Border Guard.
