The Dentist Explained Which Teeth Cleaning Is More Dangerous to Skip — Morning or Evening

Let’s be clear: you need to brush your teeth both in the morning and in the evening. But one of these two procedures is especially important. We explain which teeth cleaning should never be skipped.

With the current prices for dental services, whether you like it or not, you brush your teeth regularly, writes Doctorpiter. However, probably everyone has had moments when by evening you are so exhausted that even washing your face and brushing your teeth feels like a chore. So, what is worse — to skip evening cleaning or morning cleaning? Here’s what the doctor says.

"Dentists can forgive you for skipping morning cleaning, but never for evening cleaning," says dentist Yusif Akberov on his channel. "During the day, your saliva acts like a shower: it constantly washes away plaque, food remnants, neutralizes acids, and you are protected. But as soon as you fall asleep, saliva production drops almost to zero. Protection is turned off at this time. If plaque is left on your teeth, bacteria feed on it all night long and release corrosive acid that literally erodes your enamel for eight hours straight."

According to the dentist, at night, bacteria destroy uncleaned teeth ten times faster. Unfortunately, after such a prolonged attack by microbes, morning cleaning will not save you from the damage done. And that unpleasant morning smell is precisely the product of their activity.

"Evening cleaning is not about freshness. It is the only protection for your teeth until morning. So, the price of saving two minutes on evening cleaning is too high," says the dentist. "Therefore, in the morning we brush our teeth for others, and in the evening — for ourselves."

Evening teeth cleaning is one of the most important habits for maintaining oral health. Even if the day was tough, a few minutes before bed can help avoid serious problems and costly treatments in the future.
