The U.S. Department of Defense has introduced a strategy for the accelerated development of artificial intelligence to implement AI technologies in the military sphere.

In a statement, the agency said that the Pentagon is launching a strategy for the accelerated development of AI. It aims to strengthen the U.S. leadership in the use of artificial intelligence for military purposes and ensure the country's undeniable global supremacy in creating next-generation armed forces based on AI.

The strategy, implemented in accordance with the directive of U.S. President Donald Trump, focuses on three key areas: combat operations, intelligence activities, and operational management.

As reported by AP News, Defense Secretary Pete Hegset also noted that AI models "will be integrated into all unclassified and classified networks" of the defense department.

The agency clarifies that such statements have been made in parallel with an international scandal surrounding the neural network Grok. In early January, the European Commission accused the social network X of generating anti-Semitic and other unacceptable content using the Grok neural network. Later, Malaysia and Indonesia blocked access to Grok. Following this, the authorities in the United Kingdom also announced a possible ban on the platform.

In response to criticism, the platform limited the ability to create AI-generated images, leaving this tool only for paid subscribers. Elon Musk himself previously rejected accusations that Grok could be used to create sexualized content, stating that governments "just want to suppress free speech."
