Danish Prime Minister Described Negotiations with the U.S. in Two Words

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen described the negotiations between the foreign ministers of Denmark and Greenland with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio as a challenging meeting. This was reported by the TV2 channel.

She emphasized that the establishment of a working group involving the U.S., Denmark, and Greenland does not change the fact that there is a fundamental disagreement, as Washington's ambitions to 'capture' the island remain unchanged.

According to the head of the Danish government, efforts continue to prevent the realization of the island's capture by Americans, and on Friday, the government will inform members of parliament about the situation.

Earlier, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen stated that negotiations between representatives of Denmark and the U.S. revealed fundamental disagreements between the parties regarding Greenland. He emphasized that during the recent meeting at the White House, dedicated to the fate of the island, there was an 'open and constructive' conversation, but the parties could not reach an agreement.
