On Wednesday, a train derailed in Thailand, resulting in at least 22 fatalities, authorities reported, according to LETA citing AFP.
"22 people have died, and more than 30 have been injured," said a representative of the police in Nakhon Ratchasima province.
"A construction crane fell on the train, causing it to derail and catch fire," stated the public relations department of Nakhon Ratchasima province.
The train was traveling from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani province. There were 195 people on board.
The crane was being used for the construction of a high-speed railway that is intended to connect Bangkok with the Chinese city of Kunming.
The project costs $5.4 billion and is supported by Beijing.
