Russian-speaking TikTok is actively discussing the idea that Vladimir Putin's New Year’s address was generated by artificial intelligence.
A version is going viral online suggesting that the New Year’s greeting to Russians was delivered by an AI president. The authors of the videos emphasize that during the address, Vladimir Putin moved his head unnaturally and for the first time in a long time did not mention that the past year was difficult. Commentators also note that the president articulated some phrases unnaturally quickly, while he 'paused' on other phrases, and his jacket sleeves appeared empty.
Users compare Putin's greeting this year with last year’s, which seemed natural. 'Compare the two greetings and you will see a striking difference in intonation and voice rhythm. Not to mention the visual aspect,' users write. People also stated that there is almost no 'humanity' in Putin's words this time. Users suggested that there is a risk that a hologram could permanently replace the living president of Russia. 'A hologram does not age; it can live for 300 years or more, like Greek gods,' noted users online. This year’s greeting from the President of the Russian Federation disappointed even those Russians who were previously loyal to him.
