It is expected that 22 cruise ships will enter the Port of Riga in June, bringing a total of 41,000 foreign tourists to the capital, reported the board of the Free Port of Riga.
Two of the announced cruise liners in June will dock in Riga for the first time.
On Tuesday, June 2, the ship of the German cruise company "Aida Cruises" named "AidaBella" will enter the port. It is 252 meters long, 32 meters wide, and has 13 decks.
The free port notes that "AidaBella" is one of the most famous ships of "Aida Cruises," capable of accommodating up to 2,500 passengers at once, with a crew of 646 people.
On June 21 and 27, the ship of the American line "Norwegian Cruise Line" named "Norwegian Sun" will dock in Riga for the first time. It has 13 decks, is 252 meters long, and 32.3 meters wide. The ship can accommodate 1,976 passengers at once.
On June 23, the cruise liner of the American operator "Sapphire Princess" will visit Riga, and on June 24, the ship "MSC Magnifica." On June 26, the largest ship of the season, the 333-meter liner "Mein Schiff Relax," will dock again at the Port of Riga.
Considering the interest of cruise lines in Riga, the port is working on creating additional infrastructure for receiving passenger ships near the city center - on Andrejsala. Currently, final works on the project are underway, and soon partial demolition of the ED dam, which limits the docking of larger ships at the Export Port's berths, will begin. The work is planned to be completed by next year.
This year, 101 cruise ship calls are scheduled at the Port of Riga, which is 21% more than in 2025. It is expected that a total of about 135,000 tourists will arrive in Riga on cruise ships, which is 17% more than last year.
In the 2025 cruise season, Riga was visited by 85 ships that brought 115,500 tourists, which is 43% more than in 2024.
