One of the largest buyers of Russian oil has made a demand

Reuters: India has demanded weekly reports on oil imports from Russia.

The Government of India has demanded weekly reports on oil imports from Russia and the USA. This was reported by Reuters, citing sources.

"We need timely and accurate data on oil imports from Russia and the USA so that when the USA requests information, we can provide verified figures instead of relying on secondary sources," the agency quotes one of the anonymous interlocutors.

According to the authors of the material, the reason for this decision may be Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's plans to conclude a new trade agreement with the USA.

On December 19 of last year, Reuters reported that in the second half of December, discounts on the main Russian export grade of oil, Urals, sold in Baltic ports for Chinese buyers soared to $35 per barrel relative to the Brent grade. The sharp rise in discounts began after the introduction of US sanctions against the largest Russian oil exporters.
