London and Berlin to Jointly Purchase Powerful Artillery Systems 0 9

London and Berlin have signed a contract for the joint purchase of mobile artillery systems worth $70 million. This was reported by the media, citing information from the British Ministry of Defence.

It is noted that the United Kingdom will receive demonstration versions of the RCH 155 self-propelled howitzer, which is capable of firing eight rounds per minute, shooting on the move, and covering 700 kilometers without refueling. Two more samples of the howitzer will be provided for testing in Germany.

The production of the system is handled by the Franco-German company KNDS and the leading German defense contractor Rheinmetall. The turnover of the latter, as it became known in August, increased by 24 percent in the first half of 2025, reaching a record €4.7 billion.

Recently, journalists learned that the Japanese cabinet approved a record defense budget plan for the country, which will increase by 9.4 percent amid rising tensions with China, amounting to approximately $58 billion.
