The visit of the President of Syria to the USA began with a game of basketball.
Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa published a video on his social media where he plays basketball with the head of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), Admiral Brad Cooper, and the commander of the international coalition in Syria and Iraq, General Kevin Lambert.
As the Syrian leader stated, they tossed the ball around a bit. At the end of the game, al-Sharaa shook hands with the commander of the international coalition and patted him on the shoulder.
It was previously reported that the UN Security Council lifted sanctions against Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa. Additionally, restrictions were lifted from Interior Minister Anas Khattab.
The draft resolution to lift sanctions in the UN Security Council was introduced by the United States.
