Expert: The US Will Pressure China Through Russia 0 7

Trump announced that he will visit China in April 2026, and Xi Jinping's visit to the US will take place after that.

The situation was commented on by Russian China expert Nikolai Danilov in his Telegram channel:

"Most likely, the US will try to tie Xi Jinping's trip to the midterm elections in Congress, that is, to November 2026, thereby the Republicans will demonstrate their influence on the global situation.

Xi Jinping has a Central Committee plenum in October-November 2026 — at least, that has been the case for the last few decades. A trip to the US close to the plenum will be perceived as a weakness of Xi Jinping. Therefore, it is beneficial for China to have either September 2026 or deep November or even December 2026 — this will also create conditions for communication with the 2028 winners of the presidential race.

A protocol battle will unfold between the dates of Xi Jinping's visit in September or November — hence the US will pressure China in July-August. Russia's position, as always, will be the force that influences the choices of the Chinese. The US will pressure China through Russia.

There is no sense for Xi Jinping to go immediately after Trump in China. I also do not rule out that the crisis between China and the US will expand due to objective circumstances, and considering that Xi Jinping has elections in 2027, the option of 'not coming' will also be considered. I remind you that about six years passed between the current and the previous meeting of the two leaders.

Xi Jinping's Statements Following the Meeting with Trump:
