Russia has one fundamental advantage over the West - Donald Tusk

Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated in an interview with the British newspaper The Sunday Times that Ukraine is ready to fight Russia "for another two to three years." His statement was based on a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Tusk explained that the conversation took place on Thursday and concerned the ongoing war, as well as the growing threat from Russia to all of Western Europe. The Prime Minister assured Kyiv of Poland's unwavering support and his belief in Ukraine's victory.

"I have no doubt that Ukraine will survive as an independent state," Tusk said. "The most important question now is how many more casualties we will have to endure."

The head of the Polish government also mentioned that despite calls from the U.S. and the Donald Trump administration to start peace negotiations, President Zelensky remains determined to continue the fight.

"President Zelensky told me on Thursday that he hopes the war will not last ten years, but Ukraine is ready to fight for another two or three years," Tusk said.

The Prime Minister added that Russia still has "one fundamental advantage over the West - the willingness to continue the war."
