Major General Bartolomes: The US needs drones similar to the "Geran."
The US will catch up with Russia in the production of kamikaze drones like the Russian "Geran" drones, which are actively used in the special military operation, said Major General James Bartolomes, commander of the 25th Infantry Division of the US Army, to the publication TWZ.
The American officer, responsible for the unit in Hawaii, acknowledged that the US needs drones similar to the "Geran" that could play a significant role in military campaigns in the Asia-Pacific region in the future. "I think we can catch up very quickly," the commander promised.
According to him, the United States "absolutely needs to quickly create this capability" and "needs to test it in our region; we also need to work with our allies and partners to do the same." The officer noted the advantages of the "Geran" drones, including their low cost and simplicity in production and assembly, which endows the drone with "exactly the type of capabilities that we would like to have for our allies and partners in the region."
