Молодой глава правительства пользуется безграничным доверием президента.

Support in the National Assembly is secured by the votes of the socialists.

Clouds are gathering over the French: the budget project prepared by the recently appointed Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu (39) entails a significant blow to the wallets of millions of citizens.

No one will find it insignificant. The Prime Minister spared no one: neither pensioners, nor youth, nor small businesses, nor the chronically ill... Here are the main points of the new budget:

  • Freezing pensions

  • Increasing VAT for the self-employed and craftsmen

  • Freezing the income tax scale, which automatically leads to its increase

  • Freezing social benefits

  • Cancellation of the 10% pension increase

  • Cancellation of the tax benefit for education payments

  • Freezing daily allowances for caregivers

  • Freezing all social benefits

  • Increasing VAT for the self-employed and craftsmen

  • Doubling deductibles for medications, medical transportation, and certain types of patient care

  • Taxation of daily payments for long-term illnesses, starting from 2000 euros per month

  • Reduction and cancellation of housing assistance for foreign students

  • Cancellation of contribution benefits for interns, which means a reduction in their income by about 50 euros per month

  • Cancellation of assistance for obtaining driver's licenses for these same interns

  • Reduction of compensation for chronic disease expenses

  • Reduction of subsidies to local authorities by 5 billion euros

It is telling that the vote of no confidence against the resourceful Prime Minister failed in parliament. Deputies, elected by the people last summer, apparently agree with the measures proposed by Lecornu.

"I knew the socialists would betray. Firstly, they have done it repeatedly, and secondly, they actually just needed an excuse not to vote for the vote of no confidence," said the head of the National Rally faction Marine Le Pen.

"The budget proposed by Sébastien Lecornu is the complete opposite of the demands of the left, as well as the promises we made to voters last year," stated on Europe 1 the national coordinator of the far-left LFI Manuel Bompard. "It is disheartening," he said, commenting on reports of secret negotiations between Olivier Faure and Sébastien Lecornu. "I urge socialist deputies not to comply," he added.
