The couple had 10 years to test their feelings.

The first wedding in the last 1000 years took place at Mont Saint-Michel: the groom and bride are Chinese billionaires.

The UNESCO World Heritage site became the stage for the wedding ceremony of renowned model Ming Xi and entrepreneur Mario Ho, heir to the 'king of casinos' in Macau.

The couple met in Shanghai about ten years ago, got engaged in 2019, then married, and now they decided to hold a religious wedding surrounded by their son and daughter in the prestigious abbey and exchange vows in the presence of their loved ones.

For this occasion, the couple decorated the abbey with thousands of flowers in shades of pink and orange. Ming Xi wore a flawless white satin dress by Ateliers Christian Dior Haute Couture. The minimalist, structured dress featured a long train and a bateau neckline that revealed an elegant open back. The model complemented her outfit with a necklace from Graff and delicate matching earrings. Her hair was styled in a bun under a long sheer veil. Next to her, Mario Ho was dressed in a classic black suit complemented by an exquisite white bow tie.

After the ceremony, guests gathered at the Mont Saint-Michel monastery for a cocktail reception. The newlyweds then headed to Deauville for dinner and an evening reception.

For the wedding dinner, Ming Xi chose a vintage couture dress from Chanel's archives dating back to 1989. "1989 is the year I was born. I wanted to wear something that had real sentimental value for me," she explains. "We also held the dinner in Chanel's hometown." This made the choice even more symbolic.

She accessorized the outfit with a white pearl necklace from the Australian South Seas that belonged to her mother-in-law, Angela Leong, diamond earrings from Graff, and a Patek Philippe watch with pearls. "I wanted to create a timeless and perfectly harmonious look," she explained.

Guests were seated at tables adorned with gold and mother-of-pearl elements for a four-course dinner. The menu featured local products, including lobster with zucchini flowers in tom kha broth. The evening continued with the cutting of a vanilla wedding cake.

Espresso martinis were then served, maintaining a lively atmosphere while the bride changed into her final outfit of the evening: a dress by Givenchy from the Spring-Summer 2026 collection by Sarah Burton, complemented by a striking cape. Ming Xi simply sums up her feelings: "I felt completely surrounded by happiness."
