U.S. President Donald Trump, during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, spoke about security guarantees not only for Kyiv but also for Moscow.

This was reported by Reuters, citing sources.

It is specified that such a conversation puzzled the Ukrainian delegation. After meeting with Zelensky, Trump publicly called for a ceasefire along the front line. According to a source, the American leader made this proposal after the Ukrainian president stated that he would not voluntarily make territorial concessions to Moscow.

"We believe they should simply stop at the borders where they are, at the front line. It is very difficult to discuss the rest if we say, 'You take this, we take that,'" he said after the meeting.

At the same time, Trump refused to agree to the transfer of Tomahawk long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine and urged the Ukrainian president to make concessions in favor of Russia. Sources noted that this disappointed Kyiv.

There will be no retreat from Donbas, and Ukraine's position on this issue remains unchanged. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting with journalists.

He noted that Moscow insists on Ukraine's withdrawal from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, but such a demand is unacceptable.

"The Russians refer to their so-called referendum, held after the occupation. This is illegal and has nothing to do with reality," Zelensky said.

He also rejected arguments about including Donbas in the Russian Constitution.

"If tomorrow Putin adds something else, will we again have to withdraw from some territory? And if I include two regions of Russia in the Constitution of Ukraine, will they withdraw from these territories? This is a non-working model," the president emphasized.

He added that the issue of territories, particularly Donbas, Zaporizhia, and Kherson regions, remains uncertain.

"The Russians probably mean that they will not advance further, while the Americans interpret this as a possible return of territories to Ukraine," the president explained.
