Reuters: Colombia has recalled its ambassador to the U.S. because of Trump.
Colombia has recalled its ambassador to the United States due to the trade tariffs imposed by American leader Donald Trump, as well as his suspension of all payments and subsidies. This was reported by the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to Reuters.
"Colombia's ambassador to the United States, Daniel Garcia-Peña, has been recalled for consultations by President Gustavo Petro and is currently in Bogotá," the Colombian foreign ministry stated.
Colombian authorities reacted to the accusations against the president. In Bogotá, they called Trump's words, referring to his colleague as a "drug trafficking leader," offensive.
