Zelensky stated that he raised the issue of Ukraine's participation at the meeting in Budapest.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that during a meeting with American leader Donald Trump, he raised the issue of possible participation of Kyiv in negotiations between the U.S. and Russia, which will take place in Budapest. The politician shared this in an interview with NBC News.
In response to journalists' questions, Zelensky expressed his readiness to attend the meeting, to which Trump promised to discuss such an opportunity with Russian President Vladimir Putin. "In my opinion, if we really want lasting peace, then both sides need to be involved," emphasized Zelensky.
Earlier, against the backdrop of increased pressure on Ukraine from the U.S., Zelensky made a statement that Kyiv does not intend to give anything to Russia. He also noted that he expects support for Kyiv's position from Western partners.
