Friedrich Merz had a phone conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky after the Ukrainian leader's visit to the White House. During the conversation, they discussed the outcomes of the meeting and emphasized the need for increased assistance to Ukraine from the European Union (EU). According to Merz, Germany will continue to support the Ukrainian authorities "financially, politically, and, of course, militarily."
